Paul Davis Restoration Restoring America—a home improvement initiative designed to help those who cannot afford or are physically unable to fix up their homes – provides time, labor, and materials to a local beneficiary. Recipients are identified through local organizations and receive much-needed home repairs and restoration.

Jubilee Farmhouse, a transitional home run by Transitional Living Center (TLC) a program of Tabor Community Service was chosen as our 2004 recipient. Jubilee Farmhouse is used as transitional housing for women with children that have completed rehabilitation who would otherwise be homeless. Jubilee Farmhouse provides families the opportunity to regain independence and find permanent, affordable housing.

Paul Davis received commitments of labor and materials from our valued subcontractors and trades people. Generous contributions included carpet and flooring from Richard’s Floor Covering, paint from G.R. Mitchell and general building/repair supplies from Home Depot. Other donations were received from Starbuck’s Coffee, Subway, Giant Food Stores, Achenbach’s Pastries Leola location, and Keystone Pretzels.

Repairs included installing new kitchen and bathroom flooring, patching and painting drywall, updating safety features, resetting vinyl siding, and general cleaning and trash removal. With the strong collaborative effort of our ‘Restoring America’ partners, those who donated materials and over 20 volunteers, the safety and livability of the home were significantly improved.
